The health benefits of camel milk have put camel dairies on the rise. More dairies also mean many more camel births. The explosion of interest in camel ownership across the country also contributes to camels being bred at a higher rate than ever before.
Oasis Camel Dairy owners, Gil and Nancy Riegler founded the Oasis Camel Foundation to help ensure insure an ethical quality of life for American camels guided by example and educational outreach. By providing and promoting safe, rich and enjoyable opportunities for camels to engage in natural herd behavior and interactions with people, the Oasis Camel Foundation promotes responsible camel stewardship and provides retirement and sanctuary for mankind's first best friend.
The Oasis Camel Foundation sponsors senior camels and camels in need to insure they have a long, healthy, productive and social life. OCF also provides a sanctuary to camels unable to thrive in other homes.
The ability to rehabilitate injured camels with professional, veterinary support and long-term care has made the difference in the lives of many camels.
Our facility includes a medical bay for the treating of injured camels.
Camels are intelligent animals with unique communication and herd dynamics. We teach and promote safe, effective handling techniques and responsible stewardship. Education is key to insure the future of camels.
is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Tax deductible donations go directly to the care of the Oasis Camel Foundation's sponsored camels.
